This individual will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure quality project delivery, acting in both General Contracting and Construction Management capacities.Job responsibilities include:Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor servicesAnalyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements and identify potential cost factorsUtilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to generate detailed and competitive bidsCollaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain pricing and cost information.Prepare preliminary construction schedules and coordinate all aspects of preconstructionReview project specifications and drawings to assist in development of bid packagesEvaluate bids from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirementsMonitor project costs throughout construction process, identify any discrepancies, analyze project expenditures against budgeted targetsCollaborate with project managers and other team members to create cost effective solutionsMaintain accurate records pertaining to the projectsPreparation of detailed reportsThe ideal candidate will possess:Education and experience: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, and at least 5 years of commercial construction experience.Estimating background: Knowledge and experience providing conceptual and detailed cost estimates on multiple disciplines for new construction and renovation projects. We are looking for someone with strong construction knowledge and the ability to develop estimates without drawings.Eye for Details: Accuracy is critical for success in this role. Candidate must have superior organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills, as well as ability to meet tight deadlines.Leadership Skills: Creativity and confidence in solving problems as part of a team.Tech know-how: A strong background in using all Microsoft Office programs, On Center On-Screen Takeoff, Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam, as well as adept in using general computer software.
