Geotechnical, Geostructural, or Waterfront Engineer

GEI's New York City office is seeking a motivated Geotechnical, Geostructural, or Waterfront Engineer to assist on projects throughout the region. Project types will include buildings, infrastructure and transportation, dams and levees, and waterfront development.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Perform geotechnical and structural analysis and design, and present data and results.
• Observe and manage field explorations and construction activities.
• Design and implement geotechnical instrumentation projects.
• Assist in preparing full design packages with calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Assist in overseeing construction of specialty geotechnical items such as deep foundations, tiebacks, support of excavation, grouting, and waterfront structures, among others.
• Write letters and reports.
• Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or similar; Master's in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering preferred.
• Geotechnical course work required. Structural course work a plus.
• 0 to 3 years of experience.
• Must have passed the F.E. exam.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
• Ability to perform field work on active construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
• Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
