Some of what you'll be doing:

As a Project Controls Engineer II, you will provide cost, risk, project management system data, and/or schedule for small to moderate sized projects.

  • You will support higher level Project Controls Engineers to develop, analyze, and maintain project cost data.

  • You will perform project analyses to determine project forecasts and predict the overall financial health of each project.

  • You will analyze existing and potential risks to projects and investigate and resolve anomalies in budget/actuals.

  • You will provide support to set up projects and perform cost change management tasks.

  • You will perform project scheduling activities and resource loading of schedules and develop recovery schedules and mitigation activities for aviation projects.

  • You will support the development of project level risks and mitigation strategies, ensuring risks are reflected accurately for reporting purposes.

  • You will support monthly project status meetings to review and discuss project financial risk and schedule, and work with various teams to determine course of action for correction.

  • You will Provide first “warning” to PMs and CMs of potential cost overruns, cost savings, and schedule changes identified during project analyses

  • You will develop quarterly project cashflows used by Finance and Budget to determine the bond funding required to ensure the delivery of the capital program.

  • You will participate in the development of Commission memos, Investment Committee forms and presentation materials, and other documents requiring approval.

Who you are:

  • Experienced – You have two (2) years of experience providing general cost engineering or scheduling support.

  • Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or Business.

What else you need to know:

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.

  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.

  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

  • Overtime Eligible – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.

  • Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
