Mountain City Rehab Center is an 88-bed skilled nursing facility, located in Frostburg, Maryland. Our top priority is providing respectful, compassionate and exceptional care to seniors in Frostburg, and the surrounding community. We treat our residents like family from the moment you arrive. This position is a full-time Monday-Friday day shift position, with potential evening and weekend availability as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MUST be Activity Professional Certified , OR Occupational Therapist, Certified Activities Director
  • May substitute certification for two years experience in a social or recreational program with one of the two years being fulltime under the guidance of a Certified Activities Director within the last five years
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, Creates and Executes a variety of engaging programs for all days of the week, including Sundays and Holidays. Person-Centered activities are planned to be appropriate to the needs of the registrants (includes but are not limited to: exercise and dance, small and large group programs, individual pursuits, sensory activities, clubs, special interests, spiritual and religious activities, community outings)
  • Prepares a monthly calendar of activities and administers to residents, staff, and families
  • Oversees activity support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, terminating, etc.
  • Ensures that all documentation requirements are met and is experienced in writing Person-Centered Care Plans, Assessments and Progress notes
  • Participates in care plan meetings, and any other meeting as directed by the Director of Nursing
  • Develops and maintains a good rapport with all departments involved with the care plan to ensure that a team effort is achieved in developing a comprehensive plan of care
  • Plans and conduct resident council meetings. Takes meeting minutes and ensures that all registrant concerns are addressed
  • Organizes and coordinates special community outings with registrant interests in mind
  • Arranges regular entertainment, parties, seasonal programs, and special events
  • Supervises the volunteer program for the facility
