Description

Amazon's Global Tax Services team seeks a capable and motivated individual to optimize tax data delivery processes by developing a simple standard data model and drive evolution in our data management products. Success in our initiatives will ultimately lower the operation cost to serve Tax Compliance and Controllership.

The right individual should have an ability to work with large datasets. They will also have solid business judgment that enables their development of business logic to transform data and meet the needs of Tax and Accounting.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Data Analysis: Conduct analysis of tax reporting data, address data quality issues, and define functional requirements for technical development.
  2. Product Engagement: Influence product roadmap for features and functionality that will support tax data operations.
  3. Process Improvement: Collaborate with tax teams to enhance efficiency and controllership in current processes and educate stakeholders on data sourcing for tax reporting.
  4. Metrics Development: Support the creation of new metrics to quantify the value of data standardization.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, fostering relationships with tax, business, and engineering teams across Amazon.
  6. Communication: Ability to explain financial and technical concepts and analyses clearly to individuals at all levels, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable plans.

Basic Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  2. 3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience.
  3. Bachelor's degree.
  4. Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
  5. Experience with Excel.
  6. Experience with SQL.
  7. Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. MBA.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
