DevOps Engineer (Linux)

Tal-Ex is working with a product company that focuses on enterprise application development to identify a DevOps Engineer for a contract to hire role in Reston, VA. The DevOps Engineer will handle a hybrid of System Administration, Configuration/Release Management, and Systems Integration.

Responsibilities:

1. Install and manage multi-server deployments in AWS, Rackspace Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
2. Deploy new code to production environments.
3. Maintain and improve monitoring systems and alarms for production environments, using Zabbix, Pingdom, ElasticSearch, and Graylog.
4. Set up back-up mechanisms for production environment and test disaster recovery mechanisms.
5. Manage incident response with other engineers and clients.
6. Rotating on-call schedules.

Requirements:

1. Extensive experience as a systems administrator in a Unix environment (Linux, Ubuntu, Redhat).
2. 7+ years of development and operation experience.
3. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
4. Automation experience using Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
5. Python and/or shell scripting.
6. Hudson or Jenkins experience.
7. Experience managing Tomcat, Apache, and/or Solr.
