The Division Controller is responsible for division risk management responsibilities including financial, legal, and overall business performance. The Divisional Controller is responsible for the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with current International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), government regulations and Bill 198/Sarbanes-Oxley.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Value driver performance - Achieve approved fiscal plan (bookings, revenue, EBIT, cash, on time delivery, first pass yield, turnover, internal fill).
  2. ATS business model (ABM) performance – Achieve approved goal deployment fiscal plan.
  3. Executive leadership team – Accountable to primary team in all commitments via extreme ownership.
    1. 100% governance and compliance
    2. Corporate policies
    3. Health and safety policies
    4. Formal executive instruction

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Internal Control, Policies and Procedures
  2. Plan, organize, direct and control, through subordinates, the financial reporting, accounting, and general financial affairs of the division.
  3. Maintenance of the accounting records in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
  4. Develop and train financial staff to ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to in a consistent manner within the division, and that the financial reporting standards are applied consistently.
  5. Regularly review policies and procedures with other Divisional Controllers and senior financial staff, to develop an ATS best practice approach for the financial management of the company.
  6. Review and assess areas of business risk within the division, and, working with the General Manager (GM), develop policies to minimize or eliminate that risk where possible.
  7. Ensure the safeguarding of company assets.
  8. Maintenance of the internal controls’ memorandum, a document outlining the operational controls in place at the division.
  9. Implement and sustain Proactive and Predictive control systems, reporting systems, and audit systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A post-secondary diploma or degree specializing in accounting, finance or equivalent.
  2. A professional financial designation such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Professional Accountant/Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified General Accountant (CGA) preferred.
  3. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing, financial and cost accounting environment, preferably in international financial markets.
  4. Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with people at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in written form.
  5. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP)/PC-based accounting systems and software tools are required.
  6. In addition, an ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance in a team-oriented work environment is mandatory.
  7. Strong analytical, financial, and accounting skills as well as an ability to significantly contribute to the management of the division are keys.
  8. Computer knowledgeable with such programs as Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, etc.
  9. Good knowledge of Salesforce.com a plus or other customer relationship management (CRM) experience.
  10. Robotics, synchronous, and A-synchronous general knowledge a plus.
  11. Finally, the person must be hands-on and must be able to meet deadlines for his or her responsibilities either directly or indirectly.
