Glassware Technician

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

Glassware technicians must be diligent and detail oriented. Responsible for collecting washing and sterilizing lab glassware on a daily basis. Interacts directly with researchers regarding lab services and represents department (Procurement’s Supply & Quality Management) in a helpful and professional manner in all interactions. They must also have organizational skills necessary to keep the laboratory environment in good working order and be able to communicate well with supervisory staff. Glassware technicians must have basic computer knowledge to be able to access interpret and supply company standard operational procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for collecting washing sterilizing and delivering of lab glassware on a daily basis
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the general environment in which the glassware is kept
• May perform additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma with a minimum of one year lab experience
• Glass wash and solution prep experience preferred
• Must be able to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
• Must be receptive to instruction and able to follow written protocols
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment
• Interested in learning new processes
• Willing to perform a variety of physically intensive tasks
• Able to lift a minimum of 30lbs
