Description
The Driver Level I is responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of inbound and outbound cargo. This position requires effective time management, a strong sense of responsibility, and excellent customer service when handling cargo and interacting with clients.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives trucks, including box trucks and goosenecks, to transport and deliver products
• Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting hazardous materials or other goods
• Safely operates material handling equipment if required, including but not limited to pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
• Follow traffic laws and other laws, regulations, and requirements; including but not limited to FMCSR, OSHA, DOT, etc.
• Inspects vehicles for defects before and after trips to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment are in good working order and submits report indicating vehicle condition
• Read Operations notification to determine assignment details; items to be loaded and /or unloaded
• Obtains receipts and signatures for delivered goods
• Ensures timely and accurate paperwork flow
• Verify and review documentation for accuracy, including bills of lading, delivery orders, and shipment details.
• Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Use handheld scanner and fill out DOT logbook
• Properly placards per DOT regulation
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from crew and checking that the vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned, checks trucks upon docking
• Secure cargo for transport
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehiclesPerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

• 2 - 5 years experience as Commercial Drive
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• CDL-Required; Ability to drive commercial company vehicle
• Hazmat Endorsement-Required
• Clean Driving History; no alcohol related incidents in last 3 years; no more than 3 moving violations in last 3 years
• Knowledge of Dangerous Goods / Hazardous Cargo
• Good verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and written procedures
• Ability to prioritize work based on safety, quality, and productivity demands
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and personnel

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. repeatedly for the duration of a shift.
• Works safely and uses all necessary PPE
• Ability to stand, sit for long periods of time, bend, kneel, and lift cumbersome and/or heavy objects.
• Work may involve long hours of driving and the physical handling of cargo
• Ability to work prolonged and/or irregular hours.
• Must be able to work in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work through stressful situations.
• Must be able to navigate warehouse
• Must we able to work Monday-Friday 6 a.m. - 5 p.m. Occasional Weekends and Overtime
