The Liability Claim Adjuster will investigate insurance claims, examine evidence, and prepare reports. Write and submit comprehensive reports detailing findings from research, interviews, site visits, and policy stipulations. This position will be pivotal in solving problems and recommend solutions to reach the best ethical and financial outcomes.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.Verify that the insurance policies in question exist and examine terms and stipulations as they relate to claimsConduct interviews with claimants, witnesses, and all involved parties to obtain a full picture of events detailed in each claimResearch the costs of repairing all damages mentioned in the claim, and seek out quotes from mechanics, repair shops, contractors, or similar vendors to compare pricesExamine documentation, police reports, and all other pieces of evidence provided in the claimRecommend creative solutions to bring to the claims negotiation processQualificationsRequirements and Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience3-5 years of experience in claims management or as an insurance adjusterWorking knowledge of typical industry insurance policies and the claims processStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, for speaking with claimants, witnesses, and lawyers throughout the claims processStrong time-management skills, as some tasks will be time sensitiveCommitment to providing ethical judgmentStrong problem-solving capabilitiesAbility and willingness to occasionally travel for site visitsPreferred QualificationsClaims adjuster license (NY, CT)Advanced industry knowledgeStrong claim negotiations skillsAbility to learn new software quicklyExcellent research skillsAdvanced writing skillsThis job description is intended to be an accurate representation of the general functions of the job, rather than exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or experience.
