RINA is currently recruiting for a Power System Senior Consultant to join its office in PAN India within the Power Division.

Mission

The Power System Senior Consultant focuses on the design, development, and implementation of electrical power systems for a variety of applications. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power system design methodologies, and proficiency in relevant software tools.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead on excellence in power systems software packages (e.g. DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, IPSA, etc.)
  • Develop models of renewable energy/Utility transmission & distribution networks in the above software.
  • Understand and interpret local and international codal requirements.
  • Perform electrical power system studies such as Load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, Reactive power compensation analysis, Harmonic analysis, Dynamic analysis, etc.
  • Conduct Grid code compliance studies (Steady state, Power quality & Dynamic studies) for integration of renewable energy to the Grid.
  • Transient and insulation coordination simulation studies (switching/lightning).
  • Protection and relay coordination.
  • Build and maintain key client relationships to effectively position power systems services and secure future business.
  • Identify areas where services/skill sets can be integrated through multi-disciplinary working, thereby developing and growing new services.
  • Lead the development and delivery of project proposals.
  • Drive efficiency improvements in delivery, for example, by developing new scripts on power systems software packages.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

  • BE/B Tech (minimum) in Electrical Engineering + ME/M.Tech (preferred) in Power System Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with 5 plus years of experience in power systems consulting. Experience in the renewable energy industry will be a plus.
  • A network of industry contacts and clients.

  • Proven track record in project delivery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often managing multiple projects or proposals simultaneously.
