A public accounting organization in New York City is actively seeking a diligent and hardworking professional to join their staff as their new R&D Tax Senior / Manager. In this role, the R&D Tax Senior / Manager will advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners.
Responsibilities
The R&D Tax Senior / Manager will:
- Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations
- Use multiple sources of information, including broader stakeholder views, to develop solutions and recommendations
- Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm's/client's expectations
- Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making
- Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients
- Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties
- Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points
- Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation
- 4+ years of experience
- CPA or Member of the Bar
- Thorough knowledge of Research and Development tax issues
- Experience interviewing clients from C-level through to line executives in order to better recognize tax liability savings in the R&D environment
- Comprehensive technical skills with research credit regulations from the IRS, research credit case law, and utilizing R&D databases
- Experience identifying and addressing client needs
- Leadership experience
- Knowledge of alternative fee arrangements, including the use of pricing tools, to provide a point of view on pricing strategies
