Cash handling
Bartenders should handle cash transactions, balance cash drawers, and close out payments quickly. They should also follow check and cash handling procedures.
Cleaning
Bartenders should keep the bar area clean and organized, including washing glasses and utensils.
Safety
Bartenders should verify the age of customers and monitor their alcohol consumption. They should also refuse service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
Other duties
Bartenders may also set up, operate, maintain, and close the bar. They may also train new staff members.
