The Business:
Hamilton Mayer International is working in close partnership with a globally recognised industry giant with annual revenues of $5bn. Our client is a multi-disciplinary general contractor, perceived by its peers as a powerhouse in the Western U.S. region construction market.
They are currently managing the execution of various multi-billion-dollar P3/design-build infrastructure projects in the region and are seeking industry leaders to join their formidable team.
The Role:
- Responsible to uphold the growth and maintain consistent track record of winning work in the region.
- Leading the estimating department, where typical size of jobs ranges from $50-300m, focusing on roads, rail, bridges, ports, runways and airports.
- Analyse and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labour, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timely estimates.
- Reporting to the Chief Estimator, this position will be responsible for managing the tender process involving single action tenders, two-stage tenders, and framework agreements.
Key Experience:
- Excellent communication and IT skills, both verbal and written.
- Assessing the risk of a project liaising with planners (programme details), construction managers (construction methods/ techniques), designers and the legal department (contractual information) to provide necessary information resulting in best possible outcome on projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software including, ProEst, HCSS and PrioSoft but other programs will be welcome.
- Will have a proven background in heavy civils, ideally with experience working for a general contractor.
