  • Position Summary
    • The Materials Surgical Services Technician is responsible for inventory management, stocking, filling orders and distributing supplies as needed within the Central Sterile and OR department. Coordinates with the buyers on implants and special order supplies.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education
      • High school degree or equivalent required.
    • Credentials
      • GPH Required/Preferred: Certification for Hazardous Materials Training/Testing DOT required as soon as possible.
        A current motor vehicle operator's license is required.
  • Physical Demands
    • Stand and/or walk frequently.
    • Sit frequently.
    • Lift 50 pounds floor to shoulder occasionally.
    • Push and/or pull 100 pounds occasionally.
    • Climb ladder two to three times per day.
    • Bend and stoop frequently.
    • Reach floor to overhead frequently.
    • Color vision within normal limits.
  • Essential Functions
    • Maintains supply shelves in a clean, orderly fashion. Rotates stock on shelves using FIFO. Aligns items on shelves in a straight, orderly manner with items easy to find to fill orders. Checks expiration dates on items. Pulls expired or soon to be expired items from storeroom shelves. Notifies appropriate buyer.
    • Meets and/or communicates with the OR manager and CS manager daily and advises of product changes.
    • Performs daily and weekly inventory management in CS and OR.
    • Responsible for picking, pulling and restocking of all CS and OR supplies and special orders.
    • Document Third World donations in Community Service folder.
    • Responsible for checking and follow up on all recalls.
    • Responsible for issuing charge sheets for Cath. Lab, Sterile Processing, Surgery, and X-Ray.
