Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide proactive fault mitigation through intensive monitoring of network data.
2. Monitor network operations, investigate reported alarms, and resolve service impacts as they occur.
3. Handle events and work closely with vendors, the internal engineering team, and data center operations to resolve service issues.
4. Contribute to the development and improvement of operational procedures and documentation.
5. Focus on continuous improvement of operational policies, practices, and tools.
6. Build and enhance the monitoring system.
7. Be on-call during off-hours as part of a small team in a high-growth startup environment.

Skills:

1. Thorough knowledge of networking essentials.
2. Experience with specific technologies:

• Server technologies: CentOS Linux, Puppet, scripting in Python, Perl, Ruby, and Shell.
• Network technologies: switching, routing, load balancing, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, LACP.
• Familiarity with vendors: F5 and/or A10 load balancing, Brocade and Arista switching, and Juniper MX routing platforms.
• Monitoring technologies: Nagios, Collectd, Graphite.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, and/or equivalent related experience.
