Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $106,700.00 - $177,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Job Description
The Senior Manager, Category Strategy is tasked with developing and implementing a successful software category strategy program. This role partners with category owners to analyze the current landscape of tools and software used across the business, including internal demand, trends, forecasted usage, and industry offerings, to optimize for Cox Automotive.
Cox Automotive currently utilizes over 800 software tools, both internal (traditional IT) and customer/consumer-facing applications, marketplaces, and products. The Senior Manager will work with category owners to create roadmaps for optimizing and rationalizing each category to meet business needs, while also ensuring compliance with the established strategy across the organization.
Who You Are
An experienced program leader who can effectively build, lead, and manage a software category strategy program. This includes indirect team leadership and continued partnership with category and asset owners to ensure all team’s software/tool needs are supported. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated familiarity with category management relative to software application and utilization.
What You’ll Do
- Create a category strategy program to support the Cox Automotive team members.
- Educate stakeholders and leaders on the program shedding light on how category strategy works and the intended outputs.
- Facilitate successful strategies and roadmaps for specific families of products/tools that will drive the execution of contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Collaborate with category owners, asset owners, procurement, and finance teams to execute upon the roadmaps and strategies.
- Develop and implement effective and efficient policies, procedures, and training to ensure consistency and compliance in category management.
You have:
- 7+ years of experience successfully building, contributing to, and leading an IT and/or software category strategy program.
- Interest and expertise in a broad landscape of software/tools to help facilitate strategic discussions and decision making.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in data analysis, budgeting, and financial modeling.
- Ability to lead collaboratively across multiple teams and functions consistently driving results.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience driving high-impact projects spanning multiple teams and numerous stakeholders.
