Parts Runner

Position: Parts Runner
Pay Rate: Competitive Hourly Wage (Depending on Experience) + safety bonus
Schedule: 8 on/6 off, 10-hour shifts
Area: Battle Mountain Rebuild Shop

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the parts runner is responsible for safely contributing to warehouse operations by transporting supplies and providing courteous customer service. Those responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Complete deliveries to and from SMD sites/suppliers. This will often require securing and towing a trailer.


• Communicate effectively with dispatcher to complete deliveries in a timely and professional manner.


• Maintain accurate paperwork for items transported


• Hazard recognition and mitigation


• Conducting thorough pre-operational inspections on equipment


• Load unload truck and/or trailer


• Secure load for safe travel


• Obey all traffic laws on public highways, public roads, and mine sites. Unsafe driving will not be tolerated.


• Keep work area(s) clean and organized


• Contribute to daily warehouse functions when there is idle time between deliveries.

Experience and Qualification Requirements

Applicants must:

• Work with a safety-first mind set and maintain situational awareness at all times


• Possess a current driver’s license and have an insurable driving record


• Be able to operate a 4-wheel drive truck


• Be able to secure a trailer for towing


• Be skilled in driving in year-round weather conditions


• Possess current underground MSHA


• Have strong organizational skills


• Be able to professionally communicate (oral/written) and interact effectively with others


• Be able to work independently and make appropriate decisions


• Possess exceptional workplace housekeeping habits


• Have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Beneficial Skills but not required:

• Have transporting experience/certifications


• Have forklift operating experience
