PURPOSE OF THIS JOB

The Area Sales Leader (ASL)'s main priority is managing and leading a group of Customer Sales Representatives (CSRs) within an assigned geography that are accountable for in-store execution through a set group of key customers. The Area Manager will also be responsible for the coaching, training and development of their respective teams. The Area Sales Leader will be accountable for driving sales volume and The Yerba Mate Co, LLC initiatives, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales volume and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets for each assigned CSR and appropriately manage the execution of these targets. Managing this performance consists of but is not limited to feedback/coaching, corrective counseling, and performance reviews.
  • Establish and maintain regular and ongoing communication with retail partners/decision makers in order to successfully implement national/local programming and ensure high levels of customer service.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for all CSRs and warehouse associates, including inspection of vehicles, monitoring maintenance of equipment, assessing driving behavior, etc.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and training.
  • Conduct two route rides per week. The primary purpose of the route rides is to train, develop, and evaluate the performance of the CSRs and the executional conditions of his/her market.
  • Ensure Guayakí looks like the #1 yerba mate brand in all accounts and is winning vs. competition.
  • Teach and develop CSR's selling skills through the established selling process, this will include role plays, overcoming objections, and retail math skills as well as understanding the different buying personalities of decision makers.
  • Conduct weekly CSR huddles/workshops in groups and 1-on-1's to improve operational expertise and recognize/reward results.
  • Recruit top talent and participate in the hiring process of direct report positions.
  • Conduct audits of inventory counts to ensure integrity of information.
  • Manage or monitor inventory levels utilizing company processes.
  • Review performance metrics and sales data daily.

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADER

  • Work collaboratively across the organization and share best practices. Act as a major contributor/leader among peer group.
  • Build a diverse organization that reflects the marketplace; adheres to The Yerba Mate Co, LLC mission, values and inspires team through effective leadership.
  • Ensure the CSR team understands and adheres to Company standards and operating procedures.

Minimum Experience And Qualifications

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding assigned sales objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to prepare presentation materials and present the information one-on-one and in a group.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Experience And Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years industry-related experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Direct Store Delivery (DSD) management.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Preferred understanding of Encompass data system and other IT systems.

  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Various vehicle and equipment operations.

The pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors; actual pay offered may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Sales commissions and/or variable pay plans are also offered depending on the position (ex: monthly, quarterly, annual bonuses). Salary Range: $65,000—$71,000 USD.
