DescriptionDirector of Sales – Field SalesPurpose and Scope/General Summary: The Director of Sales – Field Sales will act within Pilgrim’s established business goals and objectives to plan, develop and implement strategies in pursuit of Area business growth within their defined geography. Critical to this role is the ability to lead a variety of team’s: Regional Sales Managers, Broker Market Level team’s, Broker VP’s, and Distributors. This role will collaborate with a variety of internal team’s such as but not limited to the following at Pilgrim’s: Trade, Category, Product Innovation & Finance. The Director – Field Sales is to support strategic planning and implementation through the year. The Director of Sales – Field Sales will deliver on assigned Annual KPI’s.The ideal candidate will be based in the Midwest region.Responsibilities:Prepared Centric Role, developing region to 40-80 MM lbs. of Prepared BusinessRegional expert for Pilgrim’s further processed products and plant capabilitiesDeliver growth to Area by establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with Regional Chain targets, Distributors and Broker Teams within their assigned Area to meet KPIsUtilize Pilgrim’s Sales Process (PSP) to become an expert in negotiations and growing our customers chicken businessCollaborate and coordinate with Head of Field Sales, other key PPC team members, and key broker personnel, to achieve operator growth targets within AreaEnsure a robust pipeline is maintained by their RSM team members within the Area to deliver upon KPIsReview operator program analytics and conduct regular meetings with key personnel to measure results and adjust operational plan.Lead team members as needed in negotiations with Operators, Distributors and Broker associatesSupport Pilgrim’s P Meetings, Broker Executive Monthly Reviews, Operator Trade Reviews, Customer Conferences (Operator & Distributor)Collaboration with Sales leadership to develop regional operator, distributor and broker initiatives to meet / exceed KPI’sEffectively manage Area MDF funds to support growth initiatives with key customersBe informed about and communicate key operator developments that may affect volumeCoordinate with Pilgrim’s internal cross-functional teams to gain needed support to meet KPI’sOther duties as assignedQualifications:10+ years minimum sales experience in the food service industry, preferably within the poultry or overall protein industry10+ years minimum experience leading a teamBachelor of Science degree required, MBA PreferredExtensive travel required (estimated 50%+)Superior planning and organizational skillsOutstanding communication and presentation abilitiesProficiency with computer applications requiredCan perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationAs a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations.
