Psychiatrist Inpatient General

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our Inpatient General Psychiatry team in Hopkinsville, KY. This full-time position involves working in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients with diverse mental health conditions. As part of our dedicated health care team, you will manage an average caseload of 16 patients per day. This position offers a blend of onsite work and the possibility of tele-psychiatry, with a schedule of 3 days on-site and 2 days remotely. We guarantee a competitive compensation structure, extensive benefits, and the opportunity for professional growth with a total earning potential exceeding $350,000 per year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment to assigned patients.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on thorough assessment and evidence-based practices.
  • Manage daily patient caseload efficiently while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient healthcare.
  • Adapt to a flexible working schedule, including the potential for weekend on-call duties which offer additional compensation.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through funded CME opportunities.
  • Utilize tele-psychiatry options to conduct remote consultations, enhancing accessibility and patient care.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree required.
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Valid state medical license to practice in Kentucky or eligible for licensure.
  • Demonstrated experience in inpatient psychiatry settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time and caseloads effectively with high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a similar inpatient setting is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in handling complex psychiatric cases.
  • Proven track record in improving patient mental health outcomes.
  • Experience with tele-psychiatry practices.
  • Leadership skills or experience leading a medical team.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Skills:

  • Exceptional diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex medical information to patients and their families.
  • Advanced knowledge of psychiatric medications and their proper use.
  • Proficient in using technology for telemedicine and electronic health records.
  • Excellent crisis management skills for acute psychiatric episodes.
  • Capacity for empathy and compassion towards patients with mental health issues.
