Job Purpose and Business Impact:

The Vice President (VP) of US Payer Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the payer strategy for our organization. This leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive payer marketing and government payer systems strategies. The VP will work closely with cross-functional teams, including US Brand Marketing, Contract Compliance, and Contracting & Pricing, to ensure alignment with the overall brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all US payer marketing and strategy across pipeline, launch, and legacy brands and biosimilars.
  • Build and lead payer accounts and access & reimbursement support teams to ensure rapid payer and institutional formulary adoption for Teva brands and biosimilars.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Medical Affairs HEOR to ensure that payer strategy aligns with overall product strategy and company performance objectives.
  • Develop payer-centered branding, awareness, and pull-through.
  • Lead the development of the Reimbursement Strategic Plan for assigned brands including Coverage, Coding, Payment, and Patient Access strategies through the Annual Operating Plan and Lifecycle planning processes; oversee tactical implementation of these initiatives.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to marketing research on Payer and Reimbursement related projects, interpret and analyze findings and infuse learnings into the brand team strategic planning.
  • Build and develop relationships with key account leaders. Attend customer meetings/conferences to ensure effectiveness of payer strategy and partnerships are established across key accounts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to conduct highly innovative research/analytics to help identify and overcome barriers to access and uptake.
  • Deliver solid financial inputs to ensure company preparedness and business planning accuracy in support of regular operational and strategic business review.
  • Collaborate and negotiate to align cross-functional interests.
  • Develop and administer budgets, resource plans, and performance objectives for the team.
  • Manage all existing vendor relationships within approved budget in compliance with Teva SOW/MSA processes.
  • Participate in development and implementation of innovative Payer contracting processes.

Key Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in Payer Marketing, Brand Marketing or senior Commercial roles.
  • BA and MBA, MA, MS or PhD preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical business leadership, including experience in strategy development required.
  • Ability to effectively lead and influence in a matrix team environment.
  • Experience in multiple product launches and entry into new therapeutic areas.
  • Strong strategic thinker who can frame complex problems and articulate clear, data-driven recommendations.
  • Prior success delivering results and experience collaborating across multiple stakeholders to drive results required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Sound organizational skills.
  • Project management skills and focus on delivery of results.
  • Proven ability to motivate and collaborate with both internal and external teams.
  • Strong knowledge of planning and budgeting processes and practices.
