Clinical Director: Hospital Outpatient Department Surgery Center

Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Clinical Director (CD) to join our team. Our facility is an efficient, fast-paced multi-specialty Hospital Outpatient Department (HOPD) surgery center committed to producing the highest quality work environment and experience for patients and their families and our clinical and support staff.

Job Summary:

The HOPD Clinical Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinical patient care areas and implements initiatives to improve efficiency of services and patient and staff experience. The CD will report to our Physician led Management group, our facility Administrator and our Hospital Administration partner and will collaborate with them to promote fiscal accountability, develop and revise policies, and evaluate staff performance. The position will oversee staff scheduling, hiring, preventative safety measures, risk management duties, emergency management plan, and use their clinical and leadership experience to enhance patient care and improve clinical outcomes. The CD will be critical in supporting, cultivating and improving the employee culture. The CD will also be responsible for evaluations and reporting with respect to all job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Devise strategies and plans for the entire surgical and clinical department according to company standards for excellent service and growth
  • Work with Physicians and their practices to enhance the entire surgical experience
  • Assume responsibility of budgeting and resourcing to ensure cost effective and cost-efficient use of resources
  • Plan and oversee all patient care or administrative operations and programs
  • Recruit employees to ensure department is staffed with qualified personnel
  • Oversee the assignment and scheduling of surgical cases
  • Create schedules for all employees based on knowledge, skill and ability
  • Coordinate and supervise staff providing constructive feedback
  • Provide personnel with clinical training and opportunities for continuous development
  • Maintain performance standards and disciplinary guidelines for all clinical and support staff
  • Monitor compliance to legal, hospital and overseeing regulatory guidelines, internal policies and quality standards
  • Serves as a clinical resource contact for patients, families, nursing staff and all health care members.
  • Ensures orientation programs that meet the needs of the new employees and prepare staff to fulfill requirements of the job

Skills

  • Proven record as clinical director, supervisory surgical RN or related experience
  • Experience in clinical supervision and program management
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, resourcing and performance evaluation procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of standards (e.g. ISO) and regulations for the clinical field
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer systems (EPIC)
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
  • Aptitude in resolving issues and conflicts

Qualifications

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Active Indiana Registered Nurse license

Education Required:

  • BSN
  • MSN preferred
  • CNOR, CASC, a plus

Experience Required:

  • Five (5) years of nursing experience with operating room/ASC expertise.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Advanced clinical and technical knowledge of the Operating Room/ASC.
  • Circulating nurse expertise for staffing support duties, as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously.
  • Familiar with accreditation requirements and application process

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
