Job Title: Senior Power Electronics Engineer
Position Overview: Nextracker is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of power electronics systems for Nextracker's innovative energy products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions while collaborating with a world-class team of engineers and researchers.
Responsibilities:
  • Delivery of multiple power converters to production, spanning from a few hundred watts to several hundred kW, collaborating within a team environment.
  • Address challenges at scale to achieve industry-leading reliability and efficiency.
  • Undertake magnetic components design including inductors, transformers, and EMI filters.
  • Execute hardware design tasks such as MOSFET selection, sensing circuitry, schematic design, and layout.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical team to conceptualize packaging and thermal management systems.
  • Work closely with the firmware team in designing control loops.
  • Apply experience in DFM and Worst Case Analysis WCA.
  • Utilize expertise with FPGA and microcontrollers, along with peripheral circuitry.
Desired Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in power conversion post-Ph.D., or 10 years post-MS degree in Power Electronics.
  • Proficient in circuit simulation software such as SPICE, PSIM, etc.
  • Strong skills in system analysis and calculation using tools like MATLAB, Mathcad, etc.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging abilities.
  • Proficient in schematic and layout software like Altium.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering high-performance power electronics systems from concept to mass production.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor devices, magnetic components, and control theory.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, such as Altium Designer.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electrical systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and functions.
  • Passion for sustainable energy solutions, with a desire to drive positive change through innovation.

Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000
