System Administrator

Job Description:

The role involves day-to-day operations and support for client Datacenter products, with a focus on virtualization platforms. Responsibilities include implementing, upgrading, and patching virtualization systems. The position requires skills in system administration, provisioning, monitoring, and decommissioning services. Additionally, the role involves monitoring events and alerts from Datacenter virtual products and maintaining physical hardware in secure environments.

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VMware products (ESXi servers, HA clusters, Virtual Center).
• Ubuntu & Vsphere
• Maintain 4 data centers (3 in PA)
• Monitor virtual machine alerts and take appropriate action.
• Administer Active Directory for user management.
• Perform Windows and Linux server administration tasks.
• Investigate root causes of problems and escalate as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of AEGIS-EF online platform.
• Document and report data center service levels.
• Analyze system performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Develop and implement best practices.
• Participate in security audits and disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
• Provide excellent customer service and support.
• Be available for on-call support and meetings.
• Travel to colo data centers as required. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferably
• 5-7 years experience
• Knowledge and experience in product hardware and systems software
• Working knowledge of SQL, Windows Active Directory, Ubuntu, Windows Server vSphere
• Experience using Tanium to patch windows systems and third-party applications

Pluses:

• Advanced technical knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi, vMotion, HA, vROPs)
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Operating Systems
• Technical knowledge of HP and IBM hardware and software, particularly blade technology, IBM Director, HP SIM, HPE Oneview
• Knowledge of Windows scripting / programming skills
• PowerShell/Bash Scripting
