Job Description

This position requires a deep understanding of business analysis, technical analysis, business requirements, use cases, user stories, business process flows, technical process flows, and project lifecycle (Waterfall, Agile) and preferably with prior experience working on IT and business Human Resources (HR) projects. Candidate must have a strong commitment to delivering an efficient HR solution that aligns with our commitment to the financial well-being of our clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten (10+) years of business analyst experience with IT development Projects in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Prior experience documenting business requirements, technical requirements, user stories, business workflow processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while working in the details, with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong verbal presentation skills with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Critical thinker and effective communicator.
  • You know how to break down complex problems and visualize data in a clear and concise manner to make business insights easily consumable for executives.

  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Jira, required.
  • Must be within reasonable commute to Hartford, CT and be able to work onsite as required.
  • The office is currently on a hybrid schedule, 2 days onsite Mondays and Tuesdays, with an increase to 3 or more days onsite in February.

Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis, Requirements, Use Case Documentation: Performs business analysis and documents detailed business requirements using requirements templates or develops and maintains use cases / user story documentation within JIRA.
  • Business Processes: Documents Visio business process flows and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Technical Requirements Documentation: Translates business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Clearly documents technical and functional requirements either using requirements template or within JIRA depending on the project methodology.
  • Presents to stakeholders, secures sign off from stakeholders, and stores in project repository.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular status reports to program manager and other stakeholders, keeping them informed about the business and technical requirements progress, issues, and risks.
  • Test Case Development: Create detailed test cases and scenarios to validate system functionality, data integrity, and user acceptance, working in close collaboration with the Human Resource Subject Matter Experts.
  • Test Execution: Test execution, defect tracking, and reporting, ensuring all project milestones are met.
  • Test Documentation: Maintain comprehensive testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results.
  • SharePoint: Develops and maintains all documentation including drafts, in-progress and completed documentation in SharePoint in an organized manner.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Trains and mentors Human Resources and other project team members on business and technical requirements, SAP Employee Central functionality, and methodology as appropriate.
  • Performs Knowledge Transfer of all deliverables to Global Atlantic employees.
  • Planning: Develops tasks, estimates and plan dates for own work, provides regular status updates to program manager against plan.
  • Ensures all project deliverable timelines are met; informs program manager of any issues, risks, blockers, or showstoppers.
  • Stores planning documentation in SharePoint.
  • Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with Global Atlantic EMPO, HR Business, IT organization and the Employee Central implementation partner.
  • Other Related Project Documentation and Duties as assigned: Documents other project documentation as requested, such as develops PowerPoint presentations with storytelling, Metrics, Requirements Plan.
