Senior VDC Manager - Chicago, IL
- Report to VIATechnik Directors and Studio Leads on VDC/BIM services.
- Manage VDC/BIM projects, including 3D BIM creation, clash detection among models, clash resolution, 4D simulations, 5D quantity/cost analysis, point cloud to BIM, virtual reality, augmented reality, and other VDC/BIM applications.
- Integrate BIM and Lean processes to achieve optimized VDC processes.
- Create detailed schedules, project plans, and budget projections to manage multiple projects to successfully and effectively complete them.
- Proactively identify and communicate gaps in planning to clients and stakeholders.
- Participate in interviewing, selecting, and reviewing employees within the department as needed.
- Assist in providing estimates, take-offs, and bids for potential work and change orders.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, including actively supporting the creation of playbooks and standard operating procedures.
- Enhance VIATechnik's goal of continuous improvement within our company, for our clients, and for the industry.
- Responsible for on-time completion, overall budget, quality, and client satisfaction on projects.
- Serve as the primary interface to clients and cultivate client relationships.
- Present work to clients.
- Conduct and/or actively participate in meetings with clients.
- Resource alignment, work planning, coordination, and management of a team of BIM specialists, other VIATechnik project team members, and third-party vendors.
- Learn and present new VDC technology applications for our team and clients.
- Travel to client sites and other VIATechnik company locations.
- Contribute to the VIATechnik culture of professional development and knowledge sharing by participating in and leading training efforts.
- As assigned, serve as the people manager for VIATechnik employees from entry to manager levels.
- M-F; 40 hrs/week. $115,000.00/annum.
Requires master's in Architecture or equivalent and 5 years' experience in the job offered or any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Employer will accept a bachelor's in Architecture or equivalent and 7 years' experience in the job offered or any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Experience must be in BIM and include developing design documents and reviewing constructability; assisting in coordinating the production team, building systems, code authorities, and specs; maintaining project cost estimates; coordinating the bidding process; and on-site observation; project management, business development; Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Dynamo; VR, BIM, Digital Twins, AI. Various worksites: relocation or occasional travel to project-based unanticipated worksites within the USA possible.
