The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is looking for a Database Specialist 2 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
 
What you will be doing: Under the supervision of a data processing manager, incumbents perform the full range of activities required to support agency databases which Database Management System (DBMS) software may reside on database servers. These activities include installing the DBMS and related systems software; designing, implementing, and maintaining databases; defining, storing, and securing data in the DBMS; optimizing performance of the DBMS; analyzing problems; providing technical consultation to agencies; determining long-term requirements; and developing operational guidelines, and generating reports and interfaces data. Positions in this class series are responsible for maintaining the integrity, availability, security, and efficiency of resident databases. They must also resolve complex and often conflicting agency requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of database management systems experience at a level equivalent to a Database Specialist 1 for the State of Alaska.
