The Opportunity
As a Tax Senior working in a hybrid model, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities for the organization. Key Responsibilities
In this hybrid role, you will:
Manage and coordinate all aspects of the company's tax function, including federal, state, and international tax compliance and planning, leveraging both in-office resources and remote work capabilities
Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, estimated tax payments, and other tax-related filings
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position
Provide technical tax advice on complex financial transactions and products
Collaborate virtually and in-person with various departments to ensure tax implications are considered in business decisions
Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization
Manage relationships with tax authorities, external auditors, and tax advisors through various communication channels
Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support in both remote and in-office settings
Prepare and present tax-related reports and analyses for senior management
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree in Taxation preferred
CPA or equivalent professional qualification required
6-8 years of progressive experience in tax, with at least 4 years in a managerial role
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and tax accounting principles
Experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of tax issues related to banking, investments, or insurance products
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership and communication abilities, both virtually and in-person
Proficiency in tax software and MS Office suite
Adaptability to work effectively in a hybrid environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with international tax planning and compliance
Knowledge of transfer pricing regulations
Familiarity with tax technology and process improvement initiatives
