This is a full-time position that is expected to work onsite at least two times per week. This job operates in a professional office environment and frequently uses Trust Accounting software, Oracle, Gift Annuity Software (Giftwrap), Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.

The Annuity Specialist is responsible for performing administrative functions for MBI Annuitants and supporting the MBI Trust Accounting Department under the supervision of the Senior Trust Accountant.
Essential Functions

- Process Annuity Agreements: Handle the processing of new annuity agreements.
- Database Maintenance: Update the Gift Wrap Database with annuitants’ change of address, payment documents, and death notifications.
- Estate Correspondence: Communicate with annuitants' estates to recover payments and notify them of any investments in the contract.
- EFT ACH Monitoring: Monitor daily EFT ACH activities, including returns and money wire-ins to the annuity account.
- State Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate state reports for regulators.
- Reserve Calculation: Prepare the monthly Reserve Calculation using the Gift Wrap application
- Documentation: Ensure duties and responsibilities are documented in a Procedural Manual.
- Tax Reporting: Provide the Tax department with timely and accurate foreign withholding tax reports. Prepare the annual 1099R and, unclaimed property reports
- Reconciliation: Complete monthly reconciliations.
- Backup Functions: Perform backup functions for the Staff Accountant (Reconciliation) and the Staff Accountant (Operations).
- Special Duties: Perform related and special duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
- AA in Accounting or Business with 3 years or BA in Accounting or Business with 2 years of experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Critical thinking
- Experience working with accounting software, Oracle, MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship.
- Knowledge of Charitable Gift Annuities
- Strong administrative skills
- Working experience in accounting
