Job Overview
Starting Salary $50,800 with a potential of $25,000 in annual incentives for Outpatient Mental Health Center
Pay based on experience/credentials (s tarting rate for LMSW $52,800)
In-person preferred. Potential for hybrid.
Your Responsibilities
The Mental Health Therapists provides therapeutic services to clients dealing with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress and relationship difficulties. The therapist assesses client needs, develops individualized treatment plans, and implements therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve emotional well-being and personal growth.
Assess the impact of psychosocial stressors, supporting clients in developing a coherent narrative related to their experience of crisis/distress.
Use diagnostic tools such as interviews, observations, and tests to evaluate clients’ conditions.
Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their needs.
Set specific therapeutic goals and objectives to help clients make progress.
Utilize evidence-based therapy techniques and strategies.
Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions to support clients through their mental health challenges.
Respond to clients in crisis, offering immediate support and guidance to de-escalate situations and develop coping strategies.
Coordinate with other professionals, such as psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, social workers, and emergency personnel, when necessary.
Assist clients in accessing additional mental health resources, such as support groups, psychiatric care, or community services.
Advocate for clients within the healthcare system or other relevant institutions.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress reports.
Prepare necessary reports for case reviews, insurance billing, or other administrative purposes.
Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and preventative care.
Promote mental health awareness within the community through workshops, outreach programs, or training.
Regularly review clients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Monitor clients for any changes in behavior, mood, or symptoms that may require additional interventions.

What You Need
Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health counseling
Ability to apply the theories and techniques of therapy in the clinical setting in the provision of ongoing services to individuals and families
Knowledge of mental health treatment for children
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathy and the ability to build rapport with clients.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to handle crisis situations and work under pressure.

Full professional license (LISW, LMHC, LMSW or Temp LMHC)
Experience and knowledge of working with younger children
Experience working with mentally ill clients in a community setting
Certification in EMDR, Art Therapy, somatic approaches to treatment

About the Programs
At Hillcrest Family Services, our Counseling team provides a broad range of mental health services in multiple settings. Depending on a practitioner’s clinical gifts and the programs’ needs, a therapist may serve in multiple locations. These settings include: Mental Health Centers, public schools that partner with Hillcrest for student services, residential facilities for youth and adults, our walk-in clinic (the mental health equivalent of Urgent Care), online/telehealth, etc. Our clinical team works with individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds at our Mental Health Centers (MHCs) , seeking support with:
Post-Traumatic Stress and the impact of complex trauma
Depression, Anxiety, and other disorders of mood/emotional regulation
Couple/Family Counseling & Parent Coaching
Grief/Loss
Phobias
Substance-related challenges
Persistent mental health conditions that present with cognitive distortions, delusions, and/or paranoia

These hours contribute to the supervision needs of newer graduates working toward licensure and complement clinical conceptualization and intervention planning on cases for veteran therapists. Hillcrest provides $1000 to each therapist to support professional development
