Your Role and Responsibilities

  1. Lead a 24x7x365 SOC, providing technical guidance and direction to the team.
  2. Oversee the generation and tracking of daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics related to threats and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  3. Mentor and support SOC Leads and Analysts while promoting knowledge sharing with other teams.
  4. Ensure team adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and that new procedures are developed as needed.
  5. Produce reports, dashboards, and metrics, presenting SOC performance and insights to clients.
  6. Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), streamline processes, and improve operations to meet objectives and mitigate threats.
  7. Manage incident identification, assessment, communication, reporting, and mitigation efforts.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or similar).
  2. Minimum 5 years of Information Security experience.
  3. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is required.
  4. Understanding of NIST and CISA security frameworks.
  5. Strong track record of generating and managing threat statistics and performance metrics.
  6. Experience in incident response, compliance with SLAs, and process improvement.
  7. Prior exposure to SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and Threat Intelligence tools and principles, with a particular focus on Splunk.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Strong collaborative and communication skills and experience coordinating cross-organization efforts.
  2. Experience as a manager or high-level Team Lead in cybersecurity.
  3. Background in military or government cybersecurity or intelligence operations.
  4. Self-motivated, strong communicator, with a sense of ownership and dedication to continuous improvement.
  5. Experience in Managed Security Services environments.
  6. Experience leveraging Splunk as a SIEM for a cloud-hosted environment.
