The Jefferson County Education Foundation is dedicated to supporting the Jefferson County School District in fostering teaching excellence and outstanding student achievement. We aim to create opportunities that enhance education and build partnerships within the community.

Position Overview :
The Jefferson County Education Foundation is seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization. This role involves developing and implementing a fundraising strategy to ensure sustainable growth, managing all Foundation programs, and acting as a key advocate for the Jefferson County School System within the community. The ideal candidate will have experience in K-12 education and the ability to build strong relationships with civic and corporate partners.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Develop and execute the Foundation’s annual fundraising plan, including identifying and pursuing grant opportunities.
  2. Manage contracts with the Jefferson County Board of Education for services such as fundraising support, event planning, and assisting schools with grant opportunities.
  3. Establish and maintain relationships with civic and corporate partners.
  4. Oversee marketing strategies to enhance public awareness, including managing social media presence.
  5. Act as a liaison between the Foundation and the Jefferson County Board of Education.
  6. Prepare and manage the Foundation’s annual operating budget, including basic accounting responsibilities.
  7. Represent the Foundation at community events and on relevant boards and councils.
  8. Perform additional duties as requested by the Board of Directors to benefit schools, teachers, and students.

Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Education, or a related field.
  2. Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing relationships and marketing initiatives.
  3. Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in writing.
  4. Familiarity with Google applications (Google Sheets, Docs, Gmail, etc.).
  5. Experience using basic accounting software.

Please note: We will consider persons who have served in support roles at successful nonprofits who are looking for their first Director role! In addition, this is a starting salary--we fully expect the salary to increase if the Executive Director's fundraising efforts are successful.
