The Nielsen Eye Center is dedicated to providing our patients with the most advanced technology and the most experienced LASIK and Cataract surgeons with locations in Quincy, Norwell, Norwood, and Weymouth.
We are seeking Patient Care Coordinators to join our administrative team. The person in this position will be responsible for providing a positive patient experience while supporting the office and medical team. Candidates must be detail-oriented and be able to multi-task.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Warmly welcome patients into the practice and act as a knowledgeable resource upon check-in.
  • Obtain patient demographic and financial information and update our electronic health records.
  • Identify and record patient financial responsibilities including co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles and/or past due balances.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records for all patients, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Relay any relevant medical and/or insurance updates to the appropriate departments.
  • Confirm medical charts are complete and financial responsibilities are settled before patients leave.
  • Answer calls in a timely, professional, and respectful manner to assist patients with needs regarding scheduling or further inquiries, notating accounts thoroughly.
  • Participate in staff and department meetings.
  • Perform other duties as determined by department managers.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Prior experience in a medical administrative role preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to work at all Nielsen Eye locations as needed with reliable transportation to each
  • Typing proficiency and the ability to multitask
  • Prior experience in a customer/patient facing environment
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced medical atmosphere
  • Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in a professional and tactful manner
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
This position will be required to travel locally to all four of our offices.
The schedule for this role may vary, but our current office hours are as follows:
  • Monday and Friday: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Tuesday: 10:00 am - 6:30 pm
  • Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00 pm
  • Saturday (Occasional): 8:00am - 12:00pm
