Who we are looking for:
State Street Global Advisors is looking for a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with Masters (2+) or Bachelors (5+) years' experience looking to join our Application Technology Solutions team. The candidate will play a key role in shaping our multi-year Next-Gen Reporting initiative. The candidate must have industry experience, be responsible for transforming business requirements into system specifications, analyzing data, and formulating solutions to complex problems.
What you will be responsible for:
- Author clear, concise specifications that solve complex global asset management problems by analyzing data streams, defining transformation of financial data, and visualizing the end-user information.
- Facilitate communication channels with internal stakeholders to solicit, define and finalize core business requirements.
- Work in an Agile environment, ensuring that epic/story deliverables are clearly scoped and completed on time, test plans are reviewed, and artifacts are approved.
- Design and create data flows and conceptual data models from business requirements using ERDs, xml schemas, and object-oriented design patterns.
- Analyze complex data relationships with SQL, Excel, MS Access, VBA, Pearl, Python or Java.
- Manage the demands of a global company by collaborating with offshore teams and BSAs to fully scope and define the business requirements.
- Work with user experience/design team members to determine concept models for user interfaces.
- Work with quality control teams to provide fully qualified specifications and test plans.
- Support development staff with requirements and specifications to define technical implementation approach, specifications, and planning.
- Ensure all work adheres to SSGA's information security standards.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate functional requirements and technical solutions in writing and verbally to business managers and to developers.
- Demonstrated ability to create workflows, process flows, data flows and conceptual data models from business requirements in a finance services industry.
- Able to functionally understand technical system architectures.
- Ability to create clear and concise presentations and documentation in MS Office and Visio.
- Have a firm understanding of the financial industry and concepts.
- Strong experience with development, database concepts, websites, applications, and information management systems.
- Experience with Agile methodology.
- Expertise in SQL and data analysis tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of SDLC, database design concepts, J2EE development environment, application server and web server technologies.
- Ability to work with xml and to conceptualize and create xml design patterns/schema.
- Ability to work with object oriented and business object models and to conceptualize and create OO and BO design patterns.
Education & Qualifications:
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance or equivalent.
- Masters with 2+ or Bachelors with 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
- Strong team ethics and team player.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) both internally and with vendors.
- Focus and desire to deliver high quality services.
- Ability to work in a high pressured and time sensitive environment.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $160,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
