CTS is hiring a structural engineer for a petrochemical project located in Houston, TX!

Louisiana P.E. is required!


The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can manage a project with oversight from proposal phase to construction administration. Work in small teams responsible for conceptual estimates, preliminary design and final design on small capital projects at existing plants. Design task could include modifications to existing structures, Experience in the design of structural steel multi-level process structures and pipe racks per AISC 360, equipment and structural foundations to ACI 318 and conceptual design work for estimating project costs.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis and construction cost estimates
  • Perform construction related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections
  • Collaborate with architects and designers and building contractors on design and construction of projects
  • May be responsible for generating material estimates and track quantity changes over life of project.
  • Design tasks may entail working independently or as lead of small teams of engineers. In the lead role responsible for team budget, schedule development deliverable quality.
  • Expected to be capable of working under minimal supervision and be able to formulate solutions to a broad range of design tasks.



Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 10-30 yrs. experience structural engineering on Oil & Gas (petrochemical, refinery, chemical, LNG) EPC projects.
  • Proficient in STAADPro,MAT3D,(or similar software) Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for solving non-standard design problems, be able to work with a variety of client requirements and work processes and be able to manage workload to meet client delivery expectations
  • Louisianna PE license required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
