Machinist

Talascend is currently seeking a Machinist for a contract opportunity located in Archbald, PA.
First shift hours: 5:30am-4:00pm Monday through Thursday, 4x10 schedule.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Tasks range from setting up and operating plain or universal, horizontal, or vertical milling machines to perform machining operations such as compound angles and contours; boring compound angular holes; doing helical and spiral milling; serrating; and gear, spine, and keyway cutting to exacting tolerances.
• May select, mount, and align various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling, plan sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; determine, set, and adjust speeds, feeds, and depth of cut. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations; and measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Machinist will complete work across 3 different areas/buildings in Archbald, PA.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Stock cutting saw
• Large Pracico wash station
• Burr bench work
• High School Diploma (no degree required)
