We are looking for:
We are looking for Technical Directors/Video Engineers (V1s) to join our talent network to be considered for future opportunities onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, WA, and Austin, TX. This non-exempt role works on a per-project basis. Sometimes projects are one day, sometimes longer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director, Producer, Show Caller, and/or client to understand the video requirements of each production.
- Switch incoming video signals, as appropriate, for broadcast.
- Program video switcher and/or router as needed.
- Work closely with camera operators to ensure shots are framed correctly.
- Operate PTZ camera systems, as needed.
- Operate Graphics and other video systems, as needed.
- Conduct rehearsals with the production team, making necessary adjustments to equipment setup and cue sheets.
- Take direction from the stage manager or show caller to ensure all cues are executed as intended.
- Perform thorough checks before every event to guarantee all equipment is functioning and configured properly.
- Test all show playback elements for proper play out.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Technical Director and/or V1, preferably for large or high-profile events.
- Experience in live event corporate settings, working with high-level talent.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology, including but not limited to Ross Carbonite, Black Magic, Grass Valley, Analog Way Aquilon, Disguise, Evertz EQX10 Video Router, Lightware HDMI Router, Megapixel Helios Processing, Barco E2 Screen Management, Imagine Platinum MX Video Router, and Sony MVS-3000A 1 M/E Switcher.
- Thorough understanding of video transport standards.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to rapid show-flow changes in a live and fluid environment.
- Excellent control room demeanor, proven leadership skills, team-first attitude and the ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Advanced Systems Group LLC, we strive to provide equitable and competitive compensation. Pay is determined by a candidate’s skills, expertise, experience, and the location where the work is being performed. For this role, our current hourly pay ranges for new hires in each geographic territory are:
- Los Angeles and San Francisco: $75 - 100
- Austin, TX: $57 - 76
- Seattle, WA: $67 - 90
