Macdonald and Company are proudly partnered with a private equity real estate investor and developer to appoint a Senior Vice President or Principal of Acquisitions, to join their executive leadership team.


The firm have a track-record in 8+ US States and acquire & develop healthcare, residential, and retail real estate. Their portfolio is heavily weighted in healthcare currently, and due to ambitious growth plans and a strong project pipeline, they now have a need to hire a leader to help take their deal pipeline to the next level.


The Role

The SVP/Principal will be expected to have experience in health care real estate throughout the U.S. This experience should include ground up construction projects, value add projects, the purchase and renovation of existing properties, sale lease back etc.

The SVP/Principal is expected to have existing relationships to generate new business across the various asset classes within healthcare real estate including ambulatory surgery centers, medical office buildings, hospitals, and behavioral centers.


Experience

  • Proven track record of generating new real estate opportunities through existing relationships and creating new relationships.
  • Experience in multiple markets and types of healthcare real estate opportunities.
  • A strong understanding of risk management and ability to underwrite deals.
  • Ability to quickly understand the primary drivers of particular real estate opportunities and understanding the risk associated and structure the deal accordingly.
  • Strong communication skills, including the soft skills needed to influence and garner trust from CEOs.
  • Ability to listen to and interact effectively with clients and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Highly motivated and energetic, with collegial and sharing work style.
  • Adaptability, resourcefulness, and work ethic needed to thrive on a small team in a challenging frontier market.
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on, problem-solving attitude suited for working with few subordinates or external intermediaries, but pro-actively seeking counsel when needed.
  • High professional integrity and sound business judgment when working with colleagues, potential partners, and businesses.
