Job Summary

The HR Systems Lead plays a critical role within the Human Resources (HR) team, reporting to the Director, Employee Experience. The HR Systems Lead will partner with key stakeholders in the business, as well as Battelle’s corporate IT team, to drive successful outcomes. HR system design, configuration, and testing, coupled with the ability to proactively deliver strategic solutions that align to HR and business initiatives is an expectation of this role. The incumbent will deliver high-caliber data analytics and data visualizations to internal customers and key members of leadership. Attention to detail is imperative. The HR Systems Lead will provide and interpret data that will drive and inform strategic business decisions across the enterprise; as such, the incumbent will understand HR business strategy, technology, and business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees system and/or system-design change requests and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to solve root cause issues/opportunities.
  • Manages system components of HR cycles, e.g., performance forms, 360, goal plans and library, calibration, compensation and other initiatives.
  • Responsible for the monitoring, upkeep, configuration, and testing of the core HR system; includes maintaining an evolving knowledge/insight for all modules and features.
  • Serves as POC for consulting partners and vendor relationships to include support/alignment with software vendor(s) (SAP Account Executive).
  • Oversees the submission of annual state and federal compliance reporting.
  • Owns and/or participates in system upgrades, problem resolution, and compliance efforts; provides a strong understanding of system interfaces (e.g., Payroll/T&L, Benefits, Corporate IT).
  • Develops and implements data collection systems/strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Maintains and improves data accuracy and quality control; builds and maintains reports and other analytical tools to measure and monitor operational results. Creates high-caliber data visualizations and reports to effectively communicate analytics and insights to HR leadership, business leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Works closely with HR leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements and policy development using HR data; uses predictive modeling to assist in the creation and implementation of HR strategies.
  • Ensures alignment with data privacy and compliance regulations.
  • Collaborates with HR and other key business stakeholders to identify strategic people analytic needs and formulate the relevant people and organizational research, metrics and KPIs to enable execution of critical business decisions.
  • Leads or collaborates on projects and initiatives.
  • Assists with the implementation of technology and processes as aligned with the HR strategy.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field such as Data Analysis, Mathematics, Computer Science; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of progressive experience administrating and supporting Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and related processes. Significant experience with SAP SuccessFactors strongly preferred.
  • HR system configuration & design expertise, to include troubleshooting and testing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR metrics and significant experience in data analysis and reporting. Excellent analytical abilities, advanced problem-solving abilities, and a strong understanding of system interfaces.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate and interact with business collaborators to influence, discuss and explain analytics to non-technical partners.
  • Able to effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while being a strong teammate.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
