Job Requirements / Description

This role will be part of the engineering organization within CTIP. Under the direction of senior engineering/R&D staff, this team member will be responsible for software testability and test success. You will design test plans, document software defects, and identify problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.

Responsibilities:

  1. Define and create Test Suites containing Test Cases based on the product software requirements that exercise fully the software functionality and reliability. Ensure that Test Suite complies to the expected behavior of the customer application.
  2. Work in a cross functional environment to gather input from development and applications teams for user stories and test case scenarios.
  3. Execute test suites and test cases to ensure that software application is thoroughly verified and validated through manual and automated methods.
  4. Perform testing of new product features in addition to executing regression of existing features and identify areas of improvement.
  5. Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
  6. Document software defects and potential software improvements, using the DevOps bug tracking system.
  7. Collaborate with development teams to communicate bug reports, providing detailed information on defect occurrences and potential solutions.
  8. Submit, prioritize, track, and verify any defects throughout the product software development lifecycle.
  9. Create supporting tests scripts, software tools, and documentation to facilitate automated testing that reduces test execution time and increases test code coverage.
  10. Provide reporting on SQA test progress against project milestones to Project managers.
  11. Provide cross functional support for submitted customer issues and field service investigations.
  12. Learn and understand PC Haverhill Cryogenic and Refrigeration product lines at a system and module level.
  13. Learn and understand the various embedded software applications requirements, functionality and interactions.
  14. Participate in Agile/SCRUM exercises such as standup, grooming, planning, and retrospective, to ensure the team is working effectively and managing its work.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  1. BS degree in EE, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of professional experience working in a related role. Experience with SQA tools and processes.
  3. Required experience with various testing strategies including regression, functional, acceptance, smoke, integration, black box, white box, exploratory, ad hoc, performance, stress, and load.
  4. Required experience evaluating software and products and delivering effective test plans, test suites, and test cases.
  5. Must have ability to evaluate and develop code to assist in test execution.
  6. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Must have ability to work closely with developers as well as small teams to complete tasks.
  8. Desired to have proactive, self-motivated approach to solving problems. Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment is a plus.
