What You'll be doing:

Wireline Network Operations is a dynamic and innovative organization committed to Verizon's mission. We are seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented, and creative Communications Manager with strong writing, branding, and messaging skills to join our team. This role is perfect for a trusted and collaborative communicator who can help our Wireline Network Operations leaders empower their teams, drive business growth, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.


What we are looking for:

  1. Employee Communications:
    • Develop and deliver engaging communications that align with business goals, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging across the organization.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and executives on writing and editing assignments, ensuring alignment with brand voice and messaging strategies.
  2. Event Promotion & Facilitation:
    • Strategically plan, promote, and facilitate both in-person and virtual events, including webinars, conferences, and team meetings.
    • Provide on-site and virtual support during events, managing logistics and ensuring seamless execution.
  3. Creative Content Design & Development:
    • Design and develop creative content across multiple platforms, including video, audio-visual presentations, and written materials.
    • Partner on video editing and production to create compelling visual content that enhances communication strategies.
  4. Employee Insights & Surveying:
    • Conduct employee surveys and gather insights to inform communication strategies and improve employee engagement.
    • Analyze data post-event and adjust future communication plans based on feedback and performance metrics.
  5. Messaging & Communication Strategies:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that support change management, employee engagement, and business growth.
    • Ensure all communications are consistent with the company's brand voice, style, and editorial guidelines.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Liaise with executives and cross-functional teams (e.g., Corporate Communications, HR) to understand communication needs and deliver tailored solutions.
    • Leverage Verizon tools and services, staying ahead of new technologies and initiatives to support the company's communication goals.
  7. Content Management & Process Improvement:
    • Utilize a data-driven approach to communications operations, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and engagement.
    • Manage content across platforms, including the Poppulo email platform, and moderate virtual events using WebEx Webinars.

You'll need to have:

  1. Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  2. Six or more years of relevant work experience, including advanced experience with audio, video, event production and the Poppulo email platform.
  3. Experience moderating virtual events using WebEx Webinars.
  4. Advanced knowledge of Google Workspace, particularly Calendar, Forms, and Slides.
  5. Excellent communication and written English skills, with a knack for concise writing and script writing.
  6. Advance experience with Adobe creative suite.

Even better if you have:

  1. Commitment to Verizon brand voice, editorial styling, and AP Style.
  2. Strong aptitude for learning new collaboration and video meeting tools and technologies.
  3. Advanced knowledge of Google Suite apps, including Sites, Sheets, and Apps Script.
  4. Advanced knowledge of Slack channel management, workflows, apps, etc.
  5. Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
  6. Experience with video editing, animation, and graphic design.

Where you'll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $97,000.00 and $180,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
