Summary:
Recuro Health is seeking a talented, experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team. We are a high-growth company building the future of virtual healthcare. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of healthcare with massive opportunities to inform the shape of Recuro’s technology offerings. Recuro Health is a care delivery platform that is focused on streamlining healthcare, improving patient outcomes, and enhancing the overall experiences of both providers and patients. You will be driving our back-end development, implementing unit testing, and owning both features and code. This role provides significant opportunity to inform the technology strategy of the company. You will work closely with many cross-functional teams across the entire company to deliver high-quality, scalable, and innovative solutions to help fill the gaps in patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Write readable, maintainable, and reusable Golang code with common coding patterns and practices.
- Drive the development of healthcare software applications, ensuring alignment with architectural principles, business requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, software architects, and other stakeholders to design, plan, and implement scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence.
- Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure timely and successful delivery of software projects.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application performance, and identify areas for improvement, optimization, or refactoring.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in software development and emerging technologies, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our software stack.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including development plans, progress reports, and system component specifications.

- Code Quality & Review: adhere to and expand coding standards and best practices, including experience with code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years in a software engineering or development role with backend languages, libraries, frameworks, and tools.
- Knowledge of unit and integration testing in GoLang or other programming languages.
- Experience in the full software life cycle including design, debugging, maintaining, deploying, and enhancing software.
- Strong knowledge working in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of REST API modern design principles and best practices.
Desirable Features:
- Experience with greenfield projects.
- Experience with GoLang Gin or Echo frameworks.
- Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and/or ICD-10.
- Familiarity or previous experience with the unique challenges of healthcare and health technology.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Worked in a HIPAA-regulated environment.
Location Preferences:
- This role is open to Remote, but our preference for an ideal candidate would be hybrid with at least 1-2 days in the office each week to work directly with our Engineering Team in our Minneapolis Office.
