Community Organizer

Job Description

SEACC seeks a motivated community connector to advance our cruise ship scrubber pollution campaign. This role is responsible for:

1. Public outreach and engagement
2. Volunteer recruitment and relationship building
3. Planning and supporting community events
4. Driving Alaskans to take action on cruise ship scrubber pollution and general protection of Southeast Alaska’s clean waters and marine resources

This role is focused on building relationships and creating and maintaining pathways for volunteers to engage in our campaigns and become a part of our organization. The ideal candidate must love making connections and have the ability to find common ground with people of all backgrounds.

Some evening and weekend work, as well as travel throughout Southeast Alaska, is essential for this role to reach community members and be present for community events.
