The Position

About the Auditor-Controller’s Office:
The Auditor-Controller is responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of Napa County by effectively providing financial oversight through accounting policies, procedures, systems, internal controls, compliance and audits for the benefit of all County Departments, Special Districts, Joint Power Authorities, and the residents of the County. We also partner with the Napa Superior Court for their payroll and other State mandated services and the County’s School Districts, Cities, Town and Special Districts for property tax allocations, State and Federal reporting, and local initiatives.

About the position:
This position will be responsible for the system administration of the County’s Financial and Human Capital Management ERP system (Tyler Munis), including budget and reporting, and other integrated financial software programs, under the direction of the Auditor-Controller. This responsibility includes maintaining access, security, integration, enhancements, data management and reporting for County Departments, Napa Superior Court, Special Districts and all other customers with funds in the County Treasury.

This recruitment is being conducted to fill one full-time vacancy for the Department of Auditor-Controller. The list established by this recruitment may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited terms, and extra help vacancies for up to one year.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Agreed Salary increases and Wintertime Off (WTO)

  • 3.5% COLA Increase effective 7/1/2025
  • 3.5% COLA Increase effective 7/1/2026
  • 32.0 hours of Winter Time Off (WTO)

Position Requirements
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

Experience:
Three years of experience as a systems support analyst or communications technician in a data processing environment.

Education:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, electronics, or related field.

License or Certificate:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License.

Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
