Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Overview :
Schap's Sourcing is working with a local company that is looking for a dedicated Field Service Technician to join their unique team. This role involves performing refractory demolition and installation, mechanical repairs, and cutting and welding of carbon and stainless steel alloys. You will work in industrial environments, helping to maintain and repair large furnaces while adhering to high safety standards. The ideal candidate will be committed to quality, safety, and continuous learning, with opportunities for skill development and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate and maintain company vehicles in a safe and clean manner
- Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
- Complete service reports accurately and on time
- Assist with maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) in company vehicles
- Operate tools such as hand tools, brick saws, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and welders safely and effectively
- Inspect and evaluate furnaces to determine required repairs
- Perform mechanical disassembly and reassembly
- Communicate clearly with team members and customers
- Learn and apply proper refractory construction methods as instructed by senior technicians or management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Basic mechanical training or experience (preferred)
- Experience with welding carbon and stainless steel alloys (preferred)
- Ability to work safely with personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe shoes, respiratory, hearing, and eye protection
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed
