Job Summary

The Senior Vice President, Engineering and Technical Operations is responsible for providing leadership to Engineering and Technical Operations, as part of the West Division senior leadership team.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Establishes and maintains recommended engineering and technical operations standards and practices.
  2. Aligns performance metrics to support the achievement of business, department, and team goals.
  3. Works closely with division and region staff to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting, measuring, and monitoring new build and commercial opportunities.
  4. Develops and executes overall strategies that support both residential and commercial initiatives.
  5. Ensures network technologies are designed and maintained to meet current and future customer demand.
  6. Practices and ensures Company safety policies and procedures are followed.
  7. Delivers technical operations and engineering strategies through strong relationships with the Division and Region Engineering and Operations, National Engineering and Technical Operations, and Corporate Business development groups.
  8. Contributes to and is a member of the executive leadership team leading the West division.
  9. Executes the Plan of Record for the Engineering short and long-range strategic plan.
  10. Aligns activities across the Fulfillment, Logistics, Analytics, and Engineering organizations to produce the best possible outcomes for customers.
  11. Works with staff to recruit and retain top engineering and Technical Operations talent.
  12. Ensures that all contractors/vendors meet all Company guidelines for Certificate of Insurances and Company Master Agreements.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Leads by example in creating an environment that encourages open communication and sharing ideas.
  2. Provides strong leadership and support for the Shared Services groups, XOC, Technical Operations CoE, Capacity, Engineering and Technical Operations Division, and Regional teams.
  3. Champions and evangelizes the architectural vision while driving technical delivery.
  4. Sets and delivers team KPIs/operating and financial goals.
  5. Reviews work from a long-term perspective and translates corporate strategy into short- and mid-term goals.
  6. Provides leadership to Engineering staff to ensure compliance with Company standards.
  7. Creates strategies to achieve business goals such as increasing revenues and developing a skilled workforce.
  8. Directs planning activities related to the Regions through the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  9. Works with Technical Operations and Care leadership in identifying training needs.
  10. Builds and maintains relationships with community residents and public officials.
  11. Drives Engineering culture through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
  12. Establishes, communicates, and implements engineering policies and standards.
  13. Reviews and submits reports for operational performance improvement.
  14. Interprets and implements corporate policies and procedures.
  15. Remains current on technological advances to facilitate optimal productivity.
  16. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent is preferred.
  2. Generally requires 15 years related experience with a minimum of 5 years in executive leadership (VP or above).
  3. 5-10 years of experience in telecommunications management.
  4. Demonstrated success in visionary thinking and executing strategy.
  5. Strong data and analytical skills.
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Respect for others, personal responsibility, and adaptability to change.

Salary:

Pay Range: $339,428.32 - $509,142.48
