Overview

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, North Dakota is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their growing General Surgery team. As part of our team you will practice in a high volume clinic where you'll have autonomy within the practice. This position will be primarily outpatient however will spend a couple days per month assisting the physician in the OR. This opportunity is suited for a provider who is change ready.

Practice Details:

  • Full-time position
  • See patients in both the Inpatient and Outpatient setting
  • New consults, rounding, follow-ups
  • Collaborate with providers, staff, and outreach locations
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Typical schedule is M-F; w/ evening and weekend call; subject to change

Requirements:

  • Accredited APP - NP or PA
  • Board certified with ability to obtain an unrestricted ND license to practice
  • Should possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to provide exceptional, high quality care
  • Support a team-based care delivery model

Responsibilities

Patient Care:

    • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
    • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
    • Provide clear and concise medical information.
    • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
    • Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
    • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
    • Perform procedures as needed
    • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
    • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

    • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
    • Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
    • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

    • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
    • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

Qualifications
  • American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
  • A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible

Pay Range
$61.35 - $67.81 /hour
