Job Description
The Principal Level III Technician will perform hands-on Non-Destructive Testing and Examination (NDT / NDE) at customer sites. The technician will perform the applicable NDT method of Radiography, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant and Visual testing. They will be able to assess the integrity of the item inspected with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications; and report the results to the applicable personnel. Additionally, the technician will support other associated tasks such as job preparation, coordination, mobilization / demobilization, and reporting as directed by their supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality procedures, laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Own personal and overall job site safety, stopping the job if required due to unsafe conditions or lack of compliance to quality requirements.
  • Perform day to day and routine safety observations and inspections.
  • Perform pre-job preparations of equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope.
  • Perform hands on NDT/NDE work interfacing with the customer and directing/training Technician Assistants/Apprentices based on the specific work scope.
  • Ensure work and used materials are compliant with manufacturer and customer specifications.
  • Perform post-job equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope for the completed work and future work scheduled/planned.
  • Complete applicable job reports and other paperwork as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Level III certified (ASNT preferred)
  • Minimum Level III certifications in Radiography, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, and Visual methods.
  • Level III Eddy Current certification preferred but not necessary.
  • Understand mechanical concepts and spatial relationships.
  • Knowledge of basic algebra and trigonometry.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and prepare technical specifications and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills for daily interaction with customers and fellow employees.
  • Ability to use basic software and Outlook to generate service reports and communicate within the company including skills to navigate web-based service literature and programs.
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license.
  • Meet or exceed quality program requirements for work experience on the applicable method and total work experience for the NDT method and level.
  • Provide verifiable evidence of previous certification, or completion of ASNT recommended training program for applicable method, or successfully complete the training program and applicable exams.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Hourly rate: $75-85/hour based on experience
