This is a 12-month contract role with the option to be extended.
Vertex is looking for a full-cycle recruiter, who is a talent expert and will help bring in the best talent to Vertex as we scale our organization, supporting the Global Talent Acquisition Strategy. This person will be a Talent Ambassador for Vertex and conduct recruitment activities designed to market the organization to potential candidates, source best-in-class talent for job openings, pipeline future candidates and skillsets proactively, assess top candidates, and coach both candidates and business stakeholders through the recruitment process to ensure Vertex is hiring the right people for its continued growth. We have opportunities to support some of the following groups: Global Commercial, Quality Assurance, Medical, Technical Operations and Process Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Talent Acquisition strategies to build top-tier, qualified workforce and strong candidate pipelines.
- Advise hiring managers on establishing appropriate roles for each member of the interview team; coach them as needed on technical, functional, and behavioral interview models.
- Use data and reporting to advise stakeholders on talent acquisition strategies, and to make hiring decisions.
- Work closely with TA colleagues to lead TA strategies, including Early in Career, Talent Intelligence, and TA Operations.
- Grow existing network, foster new relationships, and attend networking events to further identify talent for the organization.
- Collaborate with our HR stakeholders to develop strategies for attracting talent that will help to sustain and contribute to the Vertex culture.
- Lead the offer process and employ developed negotiating skills to close candidates.
- Work closely with HR colleagues including Compensation Business partners, Global Mobility and Benefits, as well as TA and HR Operations teams.
- Provide weekly and ad-hoc updates to Talent Acquisition teams, hiring managers, leaders, and business stakeholders as needed.
- May contribute to projects as part of the long-term strategy of building a best-in-class staffing organization.
- May guide and mentor less experienced staff to improve their skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Requires 2+ years of professional experience, or a combination of education and experience (in a life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical setting).
- Understanding of biotech talent in local markets and regions (Boston and/or Providence, for example).
- Demonstrated knowledge and a proven track record of success in talent acquisition best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and communicate complex issues and concepts to various external and internal stakeholders.
